In 1896, the Devon Horse Show started as a one-day show. Now, years later, it has become the oldest and largest outdoor multi-breed competition in the United States. It is internationally recognized, USEF-A rated, and one of the most exciting events to happen in our area. Top riders from all over the world compete at Devon.

In 1919 the Devon Country Fair began selling tea from silver urns to the spectators and exhibitors. This and many other time-honored traditions of the Fair still exist today. The money raised that year and every year since has supported the Bryn Mawr Hospital. Since 1972, Devon has donated well over $13 million to support projects such as the Emergency Department, the Comprehensive Breast Center, Maternal-Fetal Medicine program, the Outpatient Diagnostic Center, and various other improvement programs. The most recent gift from the 2008 fair proceeds was $335,000 which will be used to purchase Surgical Recovery Monitoring Equipment, Surgical Instrument Sterilization machines and several pieces of ENT Equipment.

The Devon Country Fair brings together close to 100 Chairmen and over 2000 volunteers! We work year round planning a great Fair and hosting many pre-events. Most of all, we are a community of volunteers dedicated to raising money for Bryn Mawr Hospital.
