Description

West Chester Area School District covers 75 square miles of suburban Chester County. It is located approximately 25 miles southwest of Philadelphia and 12 miles north of Wilmington, Delaware. The Borough of West Chester and seven surrounding townships make up the district known for its diversified businesses and beautiful historic countryside.

West Chester East High School, home of the Viking, is a four-year high school located in Chester County, Pennsylvania. The core curriculum of English, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Science is offered on four levels (academic, honors, seminar and advanced placement) for college-bound students. English Literacy and Math Standards courses are offered for less proficient students as well as basic-level courses in Social Studies and Science. World Language courses are offered through the AP level.

The student population, of approximately 14,000 is served by three high schools, three middle schools, and ten elementary schools. East High School has earned two Blue Ribbon Awards of Excellence. These awards were based on the overall school environment, programs offered to students, student achievement, and quality of staff.
