Description

Our Hearts and Hands Preschool and Children’s Day Out Program is a ministry of Elam United Methodist Church. We seek, with God’s help, to listen to the unique voice within each child and help them develop both their hearts and hands. Though we are a Christian school, we welcome and encourage those from all faith communities. We strive to weave the virtues of kindness, acceptance, and love for one another into our program. We focus on each child’s unique social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development while providing them with skills to develop academic readiness.

We are housed in a church. We have two preschool classrooms on the main level and three preschool classrooms on the second floor. Our Children’s Day Out rooms are on the main level as well. We have a wonderful basketball court size multi-purpose room and a new playground and large grass area and blocked off parking lot area for outdoor play.

Basic schedule for Preschool: free choice time, circle time, gym time/outdoor time and snack time, theme discussion, story, music/movement, devotion, prayer, goodbye song.

Basic schedule for Children’s Day Out: welcome board/free play/special activity table/craft time, circle time, snack time, beach room (gross motor play)/diaper check, clean up, circle time/music/movement, dismissal for 2! hour children/books/hand washing, lunch, diaper check, large gym time, music/dance/movement, dismissal for 4 hour children.
