Description

Westtown-Thornbury Elementary School is one of ten elementary schools in the West Chester Area School District, located in beautiful historic Chester County, approximately 25 miles southwest of Philadelphia and 12 miles north of Wilmington, Delaware. WTE is home to 450+ students, enrolled in Kindergarten through grade 5, and a dedicated staff of teachers, support staff and parents. Our school colors are
blue and white, and our mascot is the “Wildcat”.

The mission of Westtown-Thornbury Elementary School, as a close-knit, nurturing community, is to educate and ensure that all children achieve their personal best, take responsibility for their behavior, learn to communicate clearly, think critically, and become independent, contributing community members by maintaining a safe learning environment, delivering a challenging curriculum within and beyond the classroom, as well as embracing the cooperative spirit of staff, families, and our diverse community.
