Description
Chenoa Manor is a twenty-five acre non-profit animal sanctuary and youth assistance facility in southeastern Pennsylvania’s Chester County. Our focus is on farm animals and exotics – we do not accept domestic animals at our sanctuary.
The animals who call Chenoa Manor home have come to us from a variety of circumstances. Many arrive at the sanctuary after suffering the abuses of factory farming, others were subjected to cruel and unnecessary lab experiments, or simply abandonded in the wild and left to fend for themselves.
In conjunction with the mission of our animal sanctuary, Chenoa Manor encourages young adults from a variety of backgrounds to experience positive interactions with our animal residents, fostering a mutual sense of compassion and respect toward others.
Chenoa Manor is supported by an active Board of Directors, whose contributions and services are offered on a strictly voluntary basis. We have no paid staff and rely exclusively on contributions from the public.
The goal of the “Art of Hope” workshop is to instill a sense of compassion and respect toward others through positive interactions with animals and the arts. The event offers children and their parents tours of Chenoa Manor’s animal sanctuary, a gallery showing and art workshops for all. Schedule for that day includes: Walking tours of Chenoa Manor, Wool workshop – from wool to fluffy blankets, Primitive weaving, Felted Fabric blankets, Hand Made Paper Making, Card Printing, Hand Made Journals, Gallery of children’s art work. A $10 donation is requested of all to help sustain the sponsoring groups. This donation will include a free raffle ticket, a food/beverage voucher, and allow you and your children to participate in the the “Art of Hope” workshops.
